Very Strange Time of Day
It's been really hard to get used to the time difference... not the jet lag really, but the fact that since we are far more NORTH than North Carolina... the time it is dark is substantially LESS. It's bright by 6 am, and the sun finally sets around 10pm. It's just bizarre to me... it feels really odd to look outside at 9:30 and see perfect sunlight.
World Cup fever is everywhere.... we don't know anything about this kind of fanatacism in the USA. Everywhere people have England flags strewn, on their rooftops, out their windows, hanging from the hoods of their cars. Two houses down from this one, they have streamers in every direction. I will have to take a picture of that soon.
We went to church this morning.... and let me tell you, church here is sooo different than church at home. So small and peaceful vs. the huge productions that we have in the US now. It was a nice change. Phillip, the pastor, has decided that he wants to 'interview' us for the congregation so that they can learn what 'faith' is like in the USA. I think they will be surprised to learn that it's pretty much the same faith globally, we are just a bit more loud and proud about it.
The work week starts tomorrow... Stew will be working from home a bit, and then to the office in London on Tuesday. I'll be all alone!! I will have to learn how to manage the bus routes on my own soon enough.
It's Sunday dinner time here, so I am signing off. Yorkeshire Pudding calls. Ummm, yum?
