Out and About.

In an attempt to learn the British Bus System here in Brighton, I made Stewart lug me and the three kids into town today, for lunch. I think with time I will learn the ins and outs of public transport... of course, with my sense of direction I may very well end up in Scotland and have no idea how to get home. But we will cross that bridge when we get to it...

Tomorrow I'm venturing out alone to the lagoon -- so we'll see how that goes.

I have made a few observations today.

During the week, things open normal hours but close at 5. I mean, everything. Stores, corner shops, everything. Closed up tighter than saran wrap at 5pm. However, on Sunday, things are open early and stay open late. Hmmm.

Mexican Food in England, while still called Mexican food - is really just Spanish Food.

It's completely normal to pierce your 4 year olds ear. And when I say 4 year olds, I mean a 4 year old BOY. It's also completely normal to dye their hair, give them "faux hawks" and everything else.

Bus Drivers who wear their shirt unbuttoned to the waist, with an Axl Rose tattoo... this distinguishes the really COOL bus drivers from the plain bus drivers.

Everything is uphill here. Even if you walked uphill to a destination... somehow you still end up walking uphill on your way back. It's like a parallell universe.

Pictures to come tomorrow.
