Green Mushy Peas

The adventures of a stay at home mom to three, traveling abroad during the summer of 2006.

I wanted to set up a new blog to document my adventures abroad.

My family packs up and leaves in the next three weeks to spend the summer in Brighton, England. To say it outloud must sound crazy. I am packing up my nice, calm, surburban family of five and heading off to a new place. A place where the money is different, the people talk funny, and the food is often questionable. A place where I refuse to even THINK about driving... where I will be turning in my Kid Taxi Driver hat for a bus pass and a train ticket. If nothing else, it should be interesting.

We were extended this opportunity a few weeks ago. My husband's employer has some international work to get done, and he volunteered for the cause. Of course he did! He's English, lived there all the way up until the year we got married. All of his family, childhood friends and memories still reside in Brighton, England. So we aren't going over completely cold turkey - we'll have the company and security of family and friends.

I wanted to start a blog to keep my friends and family back home in the states up to date on all of our adventures this summer... because I am sure that there will be many. And I always think it's more fun when someone can laugh at you or with you, right?

We are under the two week mark now until we depart. We're still ironing out relocation details, housing, and even plane tickets. It's all so crazy and disorganized. But it will come... I'm trying to sit back, and let go a little bit and not get so worked up over all the little details. I know it will all fall into place, it always does... right?
